Nari Niketan

Three Nari Niketans are being run in our state to provide shelter and support to orphan, widow, destitute, despised and abandoned women and for their free care and rehabilitation. These Nari Niketans are run in Raipur, Ambikapur and Dantewada. Free housing, maintenance, education, training and rehabilitation of these women is arranged in the institution. Generally, on the certificate of shelterlessness of the woman given by the Sarpanch, urban body, MLA, MP, President of registered voluntary organizations and gazetted officer, the woman is admitted in the institution by the advisory committee of the concerned Nari Niketan institution under the chairmanship of the Collector. Objective of the scheme:- To provide social and educational protection to orphan girls, unmarried mothers, widows, abandoned, despised and helpless women above the age of 16 years.
